Great workhorse;light enough for my arthritic hand

I'm very pleased with this replacement for my countertop KitchenAid mixer, which recently has been too heavy for me to move from cabinet to counter and return. This mixer is heavy enough to do the job well and light enough not to cause pain in my arthritic hands and wrists. The only thing more I could wish for would be the pop-on cover like the one that came with another KitchenAid portable mixer model that I'd purchased last year for my granddaughter.

I bought this to replace a run of the mill cheap and quite old handmixer. This one was on sale and had extra attachments that I didn't even know were available on hand mixers! I got it in the red, so it really looks nice in my kitchen. It seems to work quite well, I have not use the whisk or the hook attachments yet. I've always been one to spend the extra money to get a quality appliance because Kitchenaid is the top of the line when it comes to an appliance that lasts. My mother had one 9 speed mixer that lasted her at least 10 years and is still going although she uses this one at the campsite and has another in the house. I have already useful my mixer for a variety of things from whipped cream to batches of brownies to milkshakes.

This hand mixer is the second one I have had from KitchenAid. The previous one was purchased 30 years ago and still works, but the cord had become unwrapped from the cord covering. I am 69 yrs old, so can only hope this new mixer lasts the next 30 years! Absolutely love this new hand mixer. The whisk attachment is awesome for whipping egg whites. The appliance is so quiet. Also have a KitchenAid stand mixer that I have had for over 15 years, which I absolutely love. KitchenAid appliances are the best!

I had a list of items I wanted to upgrade in our kitchen, as I implemented a plan to make our kitchen more efficient. I purchased the high-shine red one. I didn't want a large stand mixer but I wanted one that was powerful enough to mix dough. This one does the job. It has four sets of beaters with a nice storage bag. The beaters are easy to put in and eject out with a push of a larger button. I also love that the chord locks to the left or right out of your way while using. I'm not for sure why the company doesn't make a chord that detaches and puts away. I don't like having to wrap up a chord on any appliance. Great addition to our kitchen. This one will NOT be going back.

When buying this mixer, I thought it perhaps had too many extra features to justify its increased cost. But after using it for several weeks now, I'm glad I spent the extra money for it. The speeds are greatly variable making it easy to decide whether to whip egg whites or cream appropriately or to use the dough hooks for mixing a smaller bunch of bread dough. The grandkids love it for making chocolate milk or milk shakes with the stirring attachments which gets more than its normal use. The variable speed control takes a bit of experience to get use to or fully employ, but after a couple of uses, it's found to be a real plus. Would recommend it for the frequent baker or cook or the weekending neophyte.

I purchased the KitchenAid 9 Speed Hand Mixer as an update from the inexpensive 5 speed hand mixer from another manufacturer. First off, I love the color and was very happy with all of the attachments. I really prefer the thinner bars on the regular mixer beaters over the traditionally thicker kind I was used to using. I really put this one to the test by using the dough hooks to mix bread dough yesterday, and it really lived up to my expectations. It had no problem mixing the dough, even as it thickened with adding the remaining flour. The motor is also quieter than I expected. The things that prevented me from rating it 5 stars were the eject button is stiff and difficult to push, and the speed up/down buttons are placed in a way that make it a bit inconvenient to change speeds efficiently while in use. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase.

I find it a really great, handy and effective piece of equipment. I don't know that all that many speeds are a necessity, but it's nice to have them available and selectable when doing various and different types of foods such as egg whites as compared with whipping cream and thick cookie doughs. It's light and maneuverable as well as versatile. Love it for small amounts of bread dough. Glad I got it. My wife is having trouble with the various speed adjustments, but is slowly getting the hang of it. She wishes the beaters were easier to get in and easier to eject.

I bought this 9-Speed Hand Mixer about 2 weeks ago and have used it only once but I am impressed with its features. What I like about this mixer is the easy to read digital display and how easy it is to turn off the mixer or to change speeds. I had no problem changing speeds or turning the mixer on or off with one hand. When beating egg whites to a stiff peak, I used the regular beaters instead of the wire whip and the egg whites still came to a stiff peak quickly.
